There’s something about September that feels like a reset. It makes sense, really, when you think about how much changes as we move from summer to autumn.

The days get darker and cooler and we move into autumnal colours. We bid adieu to summer shenanigans to a slower pace of life where kids go back to school, teenagers begin new adventures and contemplate leaving the nest and corporate jobs wake up from a summer stupor.

You might be sensing some anxiety, excitement or overwhelm already about what you have ahead in September but remember you have your breath as a tool to empower and help you focus.

Learning to relax your body and mind and breathe yourself calm is an art. When you consciously breathe you can calm the waves and give yourself permission to reset.

– Try spending a little bit longer exhaling than you do inhaling. For example, try inhaling for three seconds, then exhale for four or five.

– Try doing this for two to three minutes.

– This technique can be done in any position that’s comfortable for you, including standing, sitting, or lying down. Always bring the movement of the breath down into the lower lungs and abdominals for a fuller diaphragmatic breath. Conscious breathwork helps you to regulate and keep the nervous system in balance and bring back feelings of calm.

With so much changing around us, this is the perfect time to make changes in our own lives and build back some healthy habits we may have let go over the summer. With that in mind my theme for this month is RESET.

Recalibrating your nervous system

Elevating your vibration

Somatically releasing stored emotions + trauma

Expanding your consciousness

Transforming you into your most authentic self
